If you are a tech nerd like me, you probably have a daily routine. Mine? Checking regulatory databases like the FCC, SIRIMI, and others to see what new gadgets are slipping through the cracks before they are officially announced.

Well, my daily checking just paid off.

Amazfit Helio Strap 2 Appeared in CMIIT

I just spotted a new listing in the CMIIT (China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) database for a device under the model number A2671, registered by Anhui Huami Information Technology Co., Ltd. (the company behind the Amazfit brand).

The database simply lists it as a “Bluetooth Device,” but we already know exactly what this is.

Connecting the Dots

If that model number sounds familiar, it’s because the folks over at Wearable Fans recently spotted the same A2671 model passing through the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) just last week. The FCC paperwork explicitly tied it to the name Amazfit Helio Strap 2.

For context, the original Amazfit Helio Ring is a smart ring made for athletes to track recovery and sleep. The “Strap” naming convention suggests this second generation might either be an alternative band/strap accessory or a completely redesigned form factor for the Helio lineup.

Here are the quick details from the Chinese certification that I dug up:

  • Equipment Model: A2671

  • Manufacturer: Anhui Huami Information Technology Co., Ltd.

  • CMIIT ID: 26J340782671

  • Core Feature: Bluetooth connectivity

Why This Matters

When a wearable hits the FCC in the US, it means the hardware is ready. When it hits the CMIIT database in China right after, it means the global and domestic supply chains are locking into place.

Manufacturers rarely go through the hassle and expense of filing these official certifications unless they are getting ready to put the product on store shelves. Because it has cleared both US and Chinese regulatory bodies in a matter of days, we can safely assume that an official release is imminent.

Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks. Huami usually doesn’t wait long to make things official once these filings go public!
