Google is about to drop a major software update for its smartwatches. If you own a Google Pixel Watch 2, 3, or 4, you can expect some fresh features and better performance on your wrist very soon.
The news comes from US mobile carrier Verizon, which accidentally published the update details a bit early.
Which Watches Are Getting the Upgrade?

The new software, called Wear OS 7, is headed to the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and the latest Pixel Watch 4.
However, if you are still wearing the very first Google Pixel Watch from 2022, you are out of luck. Google is leaving the original model behind with this update, similar to how Apple stops supporting its oldest watches after a few years.
Longer Battery Life and Fresh Widgets
The biggest win for watch owners is battery life. Google says this update will make your watch about 10 percent more efficient, meaning you won’t have to rush to the charger as often.
Google is also changing how the watch screens work. They are replacing the old full-screen “tiles” with brand-new widgets. These widgets look and act just like the ones on Android smartphones. They are much easier to interact with, and they make it simple for app creators to bring their phone features straight to your wrist.
Better Workouts and Shared Music
Fitness fans will notice some nice changes, too. Google is making it easier for different workout apps to use the watch’s heart rate trackers and music controls, so everything looks and feels the same.
Finally, the update adds a neat audio trick: you can now stream music from your watch to multiple pairs of headphones at the same time using Bluetooth or Google Cast.
The update includes the latest security fixes and should start hitting devices immediately.
