Garmin has announced the release of a new firmware update, version 12.35, for its popular Fenix 8 series, Fenix E, and Enduro 3 smartwatches. The update is currently being rolled out to users, with 20% of users receiving the update initially. The rollout will be phased, with more users gaining access in the coming days.

This latest firmware update addresses a number of issues and introduces improvements to enhance the user experience. Key bug fixes include resolving missing tones for incoming calls, fixing alarm silencing issues after migrating settings from a Fenix 7 device, and addressing compatibility problems with Connect IQ (CIQ) apps.

Additionally, the update improves the touch sensitivity of the Event Countdown icon, fixes issues with the Fishing timer status toggle, and resolves a timeout issue in the Tides app. It also prevents potential crashes when opening Map Manager from Garmin Connect Mobile and addresses potential crashes in Connect IQ applications.

In terms of feature updates, the firmware restricts the Workout Execution Score metric to running and cycling workouts. It also improves sensor search by prioritizing devices in Pairing Mode at the top of the search list.

Garmin users are encouraged to keep an eye out for the update notification on their devices. To manually check for updates, go to the device’s settings menu and select “System” > “Software Update” > “Check for Updates.”
