Samsung’s next-generation smartwatches just hit a major regulatory database, revealing a key hardware spec ahead of their summer launch.
Regulatory Leak Details

According to a new regulatory leak, the upcoming Galaxy Watch9 series will not get a boost in charging speeds. Filings spotted in China’s 3C certification database show two upcoming Samsung smartwatch models listed with 10W charging support. That is the same charging speed found on the current Galaxy Watch8 lineup.
The regulatory filings list two distinct model codes:
-
SM-L3550: Expected to launch as the standard Galaxy Watch9.
-
SM-L7150: Likely the premium Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
While 10W charging means users won’t be able to fuel up their devices any faster, it does not automatically mean battery life will stay the same. Samsung could still introduce a more efficient processor or a larger battery cell to help the watches last longer between charges.
New Health Software Features
Even if the charging hardware remains unchanged, the new wearable lineup is getting a major software overhaul. The watches will launch alongside a freshly updated Samsung Health app, which introduces a simplified interface split into five main hubs: Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness, and Vitals.
The software update also brings several new health tracking metrics:
-
Vitals: Tracks overnight bio-signals like heart rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels to spot deviations from your personal baseline.
-
Daily Cardio Load: Measures cardiovascular strain during training sessions to help optimize workouts.
-
Heart Health Score: Provides insights based on your body composition data.
-
Hearing Health: Monitors ambient noise exposure to protect your hearing.
Expected Launch Timeline
Samsung is heavily rumored to officially unveil the Galaxy Watch9 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at an event on July 22, where the company is also expected to announce its next generation of folding phones.
