Amazfit Launches Zepp OS 6 with Major Redesign and Better Fitness Tools

If you own an Amazfit smartwatch, your device might be getting a major brain upgrade very soon.

A newly leaked schedule has revealed exactly when Zepp OS 6—the latest software from parent company Zepp Health—will land on different Amazfit models. While top-tier watches like the Balance 3 and Balance Ultra already have the software right out of the box, a wave of older and mid-range watches are next in line.

Here is a simple breakdown of when to expect the update on your wrist, plus a look at the best new features coming with it.

The Rollout Timeline

The software update is rolling out in stages over the summer. Some users will get it this month, while others will have to wait until late summer.

  • June: The rollout starts with two very different watches. The high-performance Cheetah 2 Ultra and the budget-friendly Bip Max will both get the update this month.

  • July: This is the massive release month. Seven different models will get the upgrade all at once:

    • Balance 2

    • T-Rex Ultra 2

    • T-Rex 3 Pro (both sizes)

    • T-Rex 3

    • Cheetah 2 Pro

    • Active 3 Premium

  • August: The Active Max will wrap up the summer schedule.

Who is missing? Right now, a few popular watches are left off the list. If you own the original Balance, the Active 2 (Round or Square), or the Bip 6, there is no official date for you yet. They might still get the software later, but owners will have to wait a bit longer for news.

What Does Zepp OS 6 Actually Do?

Instead of just adding one flashy trick, this update is mostly about making your watch smarter, easier to use, and better at tracking your fitness.

Here are the biggest changes you will notice:

1. It connects your gadgets

If you switch between an Amazfit watch for work and a different fitness tracker for workouts, Zepp OS 6 can now merge all that data into the phone app. This stops your daily step counts and activity goals from getting messed up when you swap devices.

2. Better Morning and Evening Briefings

The old morning update is getting a major upgrade. Your watch will now give you a helpful summary at both ends of the day. In the morning, it shows your sleep quality, weather, and daily schedule. Before bed, it gives you a quick look at how much you moved and your overall health trends.

3. Major Upgrades for Workouts and Runners

For gym-goers, the watch adds built-in calendars and libraries so you can follow your custom workout plans directly from your wrist. It also adds specific tracking modes for popular high-intensity workouts like Tabata and EMOM.

For runners, the watch can now calculate a “grade-adjusted pace,” which shows how hard you are working when running up steep hills compared to flat ground.

4. Tracking Stress and Recovery

A new feature called “LifeLoad” allows you to manually tell your watch when you are feeling stressed or tired from everyday life, not just from a hard workout. It also lets you rate how tough a workout felt, helping the watch give you better advice on when you should rest.

5. Cleaned-Up Menus

Finally, the software rearranges the menus, buttons, and swipe gestures. This makes navigating the watch feel the same, no matter which Amazfit model you are using.
