Amazfit is releasing a significant firmware update, version 3.1.8.2, for its Helio Strap. This new version brings a number of key improvements aimed at enhancing the accuracy of health tracking and resolving various performance issues.

Improved Heart Rate and Sleep Tracking

A major focus of this update is to optimize the strap’s health-tracking capabilities. The heart rate algorithm has been refined to provide more accurate readings during physical activity, with a specific fix for a previous issue that caused missing heart rate data during high-intensity workouts.

The sleep tracking has also received a major overhaul. The new firmware addresses the issue of overly high sleep scores by introducing more factors into the calculation, specifically REM sleep stages and Heart Rate Variability (HRV). This should result in a more realistic and insightful analysis of your sleep quality. Furthermore, a technical fix addresses an underlying chip problem that was causing both heart rate and sleep records to go missing.

Connectivity and General Bug Fixes

Beyond the health-tracking features, the firmware update tackles several other technical problems. Users who were experiencing connectivity issues should find that their strap now pairs more reliably with their devices. The update also includes a variety of other general bug fixes to improve the overall stability and performance of the Helio Strap. The update file is a small download, coming in at just under 2.5MB.

Phased Rollout for All Users

This update is being rolled out in phases to ensure a smooth transition for all users. Some individuals have already started to receive the update, while others may receive it in the coming days. You can check for the update within the Zepp app on your smartphone to see if it’s available for your device.
