The Amazfit T-Rex 3 smartwatch is set to receive a significant update, moving to the company’s latest operating system, Zepp OS 5.0. This upgrade will make the T-Rex 3 the sixth device in the brand’s lineup to get the new software. While the exact release date hasn’t been announced, the news comes directly from an official Amazfit social media post, confirming that the update is “soon” to arrive.
This is a notable step for the T-Rex 3, which was launched in 2024 as a high-end wearable. Its last update was in mid-July, adding a HYROX Training workout and enhanced Zoom capabilities. This upcoming Zepp OS 5.0 update represents a much more substantial change, introducing a suite of new features and improvements to the device.

What to Expect from Zepp OS 5.0
The Zepp OS 5.0 update brings a variety of new features to the table, though it’s still unclear which ones will be included for the T-Rex 3 specifically. One of the key highlights is the Jet Lag Manager, a tool designed to help users adjust to different time zones more easily. The update will also give users more control over their display with a new option to adjust the font size.
Another major feature is the improved AI assistant, Zepp Flow 2.0. This enhanced version promises a more seamless and intuitive user experience. The update also includes a new Golf app, but this particular feature may not be available for the T-Rex 3. A recent online discussion between an Amazfit representative and T-Rex 3 users suggests the Golf app might be excluded, and it has already been removed for some Balance 2 users in certain regions.
Unconfirmed Features and the Release Date
Beyond the core features, there are a couple of other Zepp OS 5.0 tools that may or may not make it to the T-Rex 3. One of these is BioCharge, a metric for tracking energy levels. While BioCharge is currently available on the Helio Strap, its development for Amazfit’s smartwatches is still ongoing.
