The Amazfit Helio Strap has received its inaugural firmware update since its debut, with Version 3.0.6.4 now accessible via the Zepp app. This update primarily focuses on bolstering connection stability and improving data retention capabilities. Concurrently, anticipation continues for the release of the official premium version, even as various third-party strap alternatives have begun to emerge.

Bolstered Heart Rate Broadcasting and Extended Data Retention

A key improvement in this update addresses the heart rate broadcast feature. This crucial function enables the Helio Strap to transmit real-time heart rate data to external applications or devices. The update aims to enhance the reliability of these connections, particularly during prolonged activity sessions or when the strap is paired with multiple platforms such as Garmin or Apple Health.

Furthermore, Zepp Health has refined the duration for which the strap can store heart rate data. With this new firmware, the Helio Strap will now maintain up to 21 days of continuous all-day heart rate history. This extended storage is particularly beneficial for users who don’t synchronize their data daily or prefer to perform data exports on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. This enhancement also subtly indicates the strap’s long-term tracking aspirations, despite the Zepp app’s interface still having room for development.

Beyond these specific improvements, the update log references general “feature enhancements and bug fixes,” though no additional new functionalities have been observed by users thus far. The update package is compact at 2.24MB and installs rapidly once initiated.

Firmware Update Reaching Users Gradually

The rollout of the new Helio Strap firmware, Version 3.0.6.4, appears to be a phased release. While some users have already reported successfully receiving and installing the update, experiencing the immediate benefits of improved connection stability and extended data storage, others will find it available in the Zepp app in the coming days. This staggered approach is common for software updates, ensuring a smooth and controlled deployment across the user base.
