Speculation is mounting around the Amazfit Balance 2 XT smartwatch, with a recent leak from a US retailer suggesting an imminent release. This upcoming wearable first surfaced in July 2025 at the retailer, shortly after the global debut of the standard Amazfit Balance 2. Since its initial appearance, several key specifications on the product page have been updated, offering a clearer picture of what to expect.

Retailer Hints at End-of-Month Launch

The strongest indication of the Amazfit Balance 2 XT’s release window comes from a Best Buy listing. The smartwatch first appeared on the retailer’s website in early July 2025. In a significant development, a Best Buy representative, responding to a customer inquiry in the “Questions and Answers” section, stated that the Balance 2 XT “should be available by the end of the month.” While no specific date was provided, this narrows down the launch considerably, aligning with earlier rumors that began circulating in June 2025 and its subsequent appearance in the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) database.

Corrected Specs Bring Clarity to Dimensions and Storage

Initially, the Best Buy listing for the Balance 2 XT contained what appeared to be some inaccuracies. For instance, the watch was initially listed with a width of 38 mm and a mere 0.5 GB of storage. These figures stood in contrast to the standard Balance 2, which measures 47 mm wide. Best Buy has since corrected these discrepancies, updating the product page to reflect a width of 47 mm and a more robust 4 GB of storage, bringing its core specifications in line with the original Balance 2 model.

Water Resistance Discrepancy and Potential Pricing

With most specifications now aligning with the standard Balance 2, one notable difference remains: the water resistance. The Balance 2 XT is currently listed as being water resistant to 164 ft (~50 m), which is half the resistance of the original Balance 2’s 328 ft (~100 m). Whether this is a deliberate design change for the XT model or simply a typographical error on the listing is yet to be confirmed.

As for pricing, the Amazfit Balance 2 XT smartwatch is still displayed at $199.99. If this holds true, it would make the XT version a full $100 cheaper than the regular Balance 2 smartwatch, which retails for $299.99 on Amazon. However, it’s unclear if this price is the final retail price or merely a placeholder. As the end-of-month release approaches, more details are expected to emerge, clarifying both the final specifications and the official pricing.
