I have this smart watch. I love it, it looks really good, feels really good, has a beautifull screen, a good loudspeaker, and the camera is really honnest but :
The heart rate sensor is measuring on a flat surface like a table! and even when charging on the charger!
When the watch is fully charged, the power management does not maintain the charge but stop it. So if I put the watch on charge at the beginning of the night, 3 hours later it is charged, but in the morning it is at 90% because the charge is not maintained.
I have a lot of troubles with Google services wich desactivates (I have system notifications) and are activated in the preferences….
Notifications are working 10% of the time even with the bluetooth notification push on my phone and the bluetooth assistant configured on the watch.
There was an update of android released a few months ago. It downloads, starts the installation up to 20% and an error occurs… I did reset the watch several times in the factory state and nothing is working even fully charged and close to the wifi router.
What I found on a forum:
with all the android watch using the 8541E processor (the E means energy saving, the processor is a more than 10 years old processor for smart phones and was recycled for smart watch with a strong power saving strategy and android Oreo 8.1 support :
In these devices, after some minutes with your screen off, all the background apps are closed except the system apps. So I have configure in Tasker that each 5 minutes, the smartwatch does the following:
Make appear a Pop-Up completely black over all the screen (This turns on the screen but you barely notice it because it’s black).
While showing the black Pop-up that make it look like the screen is off, Tasker opens Watchdroid, SecureTask, Lux in the background.
The screen turns off after 7 seconds
This is preventing apps to stop sending notifications, including the bluetooth assistant. So I wanted to use it as mobile devices for teams calls, for example, and I can’t. I did install a macro app to just open the screen for a second 5 minutes after the screen is off, but it does not work. It does not work neither with the wake on raise…. It’s not a suprise because this power management is at the processor level and not the app level. It needs developper access to disable or enable those kind of functions, even if I disable all the power management for background running apps, it does nothing. Each time the watch falls in sleep mode, I have to restart all the apps I need even if they appear in the task manager.
It seems that the guy on the forum has a 5 minutes delay before all apps are closes. For this watch, it’s more in terms of seconds…..
I’m waiting for a solution from my seller and the manufacturer (kalobee). If I was able to install the update, and those problems were adressed, the watch would have certainely be one of the best.
