New Leaks Reveal Colors and Features for Samsung's Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2

Samsung is getting ready for its next big event, and a new leak has given us a clear look at what to expect from its upcoming smartwatches. A report from Digital Citizen Life has revealed the color options and major details for both the Galaxy Watch9 and the high-end Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

Rumors suggest Samsung will officially show off these devices at a Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. Here is a breakdown of what the leaks say is coming.

New Colors for the Galaxy Watch9

The standard Galaxy Watch9 will come in two traditional sizes: 40mm and 44mm. Buyers will be able to choose between a basic Bluetooth model or a slightly more expensive LTE version that connects to cellular networks.

Depending on which size you choose, your color choices will look a bit different:

  • The 40mm model: Available in Cream and Graphite.

  • The 44mm model: Available in Graphite and Silver.

A Simpler Look for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

If you are looking at the premium Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, your choices will be much simpler. Samsung is reportedly cutting down the color options from four to just two: Titanium Gray and Titanium Silver.

There is another big change for the Ultra series this year. Unlike the original model, the Ultra 2 will not have a cheaper, Bluetooth-only option. If you want this watch, you will have to get the model with built-in cellular connectivity.

Design Changes and No “Classic” Model

A separate leak from an insider known as GalaxyTechie points to a new design for the Ultra 2. The watch is expected to get a boxier shape, a thinner frame around the screen, and numbers printed around the bezel to show the hours. The buttons on the side are also getting a makeover, featuring a bright orange accent color.

For fans of the rotating bezel, there is some disappointing news. The same source claims that Samsung is not making a “Galaxy Watch9 Classic” this year. Recent government filings from the FCC match this rumor, showing no signs of a Classic model in the pipeline.

Charging Speeds Stay the Same

If you were hoping for faster charging, you might have to wait another year. Public certification documents show that the new smartwatches will use 10W wireless charging. This is the exact same speed as the previous generation, meaning the watches won’t juice up any faster than the current models.

Samsung has not officially announced the date for its next Unpacked event yet, but we should find out very soon if the July 22 date is correct.
