Samsung is getting ready for its next big Galaxy Unpacked event, which is likely only a month away. While tech fans are waiting for new smartwatches, a fresh leak from a tipster named GalaxyTechie on X (formerly Twitter) has changed what we expect to see.
Here is a breakdown of what is changing, what is missing, and what these new watches might look like.
No Galaxy Watch 9 Classic This Year
If you were hoping for a classic-looking Samsung watch with a rotating physical frame around the screen, you might have to wait. Earlier rumors suggested a Galaxy Watch 9 Classic was on the way, but the new leak says otherwise.
Instead, it looks like Samsung is sticking to its usual schedule. Since the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic just came out recently, a brand-new Classic model will likely skip this generation. This news matches up with recent official paperwork filed with the FCC, which also didn’t show signs of a new Classic version.
A Fresh Look for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2

Even though the Classic is missing, Samsung is putting its energy into a major makeover for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. Interestingly, the new Ultra model will actually steal a few style ideas from older classic watches.
According to leaked pictures, the watch face will look a bit more boxy and square. The rim around the screen will feature the numbers 1 through 12 printed on it, though we do not know yet if this rim will actually spin. On top of that, the screen itself is getting thinner borders, meaning you get a little more display space without making the watch feel huge on your wrist.
New Buttons and Fresh Colors

The buttons on the side of the watch are also getting an update. The round “Quick” button used on previous models is being swapped out for a wider, flat button. To make it pop, Samsung is adding a bright orange accent color to it.
The leak also gave us a sneak peek at the new color options and wrist straps for both the base Galaxy Watch 9 and the Ultra 2. You can expect to see these combinations:
-
Beige: A clean, neutral option available for the main models.
-
Black: Comes paired with a distinct bluish strap.
-
Silver: Comes paired with a sporty green strap.
Along with the hardware changes, the watches will run a new software update called One UI 9 Watch. This update will bring brand-new watch faces and a completely refreshed layout for the Samsung Health app to help you track your daily fitness.
