Given that you’ve followed some of my recent investigations of FCC and IMDA listings, you are aware that I have been hunting down one particular monster – namely, model A2441, which is also known as Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra.
However, today, Amazfit Malaysia released a teaser of a new model under the slogan “Refined Performance,” and everyone automatically assumes it is the Ultra. While I don’t believe it is the same device, after analyzing some hardware photos from the FCC listing, it has become clear to me that there are actually two entirely different devices.
1. The “Crown” Contradiction

Consider the teaser. Notice the large, shining, textured rotating crown positioned at the 2 o’clock mark. This crown appears to be very elegant and “lifestyle.”
Next, consider the pictures of the A2441 (Cheetah 2 Ultra) that I found on the FCC (as shown in the picture below). There is no crown. This version of the Ultra is very rugged, featuring four buttons. The button array is flat and protected. If this is the true Ultra watch, then it is designed for mountain climbing and muddying, not for being “elegant.”

2. “Refined” vs. “Ultra.”
The term “Refined” is used in the marketing lingo of the teaser. As per the context in the watch industry, “refined” means making things thinner, more elegant, and stylish.
Cheetah 2 Ultra, according to the FCC images, is anything but refined. It has:
• Skeletonized Lugs – Large voids created in the structure to reduce weight but make it bulky.
• Industrial Build – Heavy-duty build made out of titanium that can withstand up to 10ATM.
• Action Buttons – Large action buttons that appear glove-friendly.
The Bottom Line: Don’t Get Confused
We might be seeing a double launch.
Cheetah 2 Ultra A2441: The 4-button, no-crown, rugged monster that I found on the FCC. This is the beast for the die-hard ultra-runners and “owning your data” folks.
“Refined” Mystery Smartwatch: The watch that Amazfit Malaysia teased. This one has the crown, “refined” marketing language, and probably aims at the more “pro-sumer” market.
What does this mean? Ignore the marketing around the “refined” watch and focus on the A2441. We have seen the actual hardware of the Ultra, and it is a completely different story.
So which one are you waiting for? The rugged, multi-buttoned Ultra or this new “refined” mystery smartwatch? Tell us in the comments below!
