Amazfit Leaves Active 2 and Bip 6 Watches Mostly Behind on New Software Roadmap

Amazfit has just dropped its new software update roadmap, and it brings some disappointing news for budget-friendly watch owners. If you use the Amazfit Active 2 (both the Round and Square versions) or the Amazfit Bip 6, your update timeline looks nearly empty for the next few months.

While higher-end models like the Balance and T-Rex series are getting a steady stream of new goodies, cheaper devices are getting left out of the fun.

What the New Roadmap Shows

Looking closely at Zepp Health’s schedule running from late 2026 into early 2027, the slots for the Active 2 and Bip 6 are mostly blank. October, December, January, and February show nothing at all. There is only a single solitary update entry penciled in for November.

On the flip side, more expensive watches like the Balance 3, Balance Ultra, and T-Rex 3 lineup are scoring all kinds of upgrades. You can see the picture above.

Why Are These Affordable Watches Missing Out?

You might wonder why Amazfit is skipping these watches when they are still relatively new. After all, the Bip 6 is officially covered for security patches until January 2027, and the Active 2 models have support windows stretching all the way to mid-2028.

The company points straight to hardware memory limitations. Simply put, these budget watches do not have enough internal memory to handle heavy new features. Because of this hardware wall, things like advanced map optimization, detailed training courses, and structured training calendars will not make their way to the Active 2 or Bip 6.

What This Means for Users

If you own one of these watches, do not panic. Your device is not dead.

Amazfit’s official support has not ended, and your watch will keep working normally. You will still receive essential security patches until your device reaches its official end-of-life date. However, if you are hoping for brand-new fitness features or major software tricks down the road, Amazfit is gently pushing users toward newer, higher-end models like the Active Max if they want the latest tools.
