A highly anticipated leak offers the first substantial look at what is believed to be the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic, expected to debut this summer. This new smartwatch appears to blend design cues from both the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, notably reintroducing Samsung’s popular physical rotating bezel after a generation’s absence.
The Return of the Classic
The Galaxy Watch6 Classic, launched in summer 2023 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5, has been a staple for some time. While Samsung shifted focus to the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year, hints of the Classic’s return in 2025 as part of the Galaxy Watch8 series surfaced in a recent One UI Watch beta build.
First Look at the Galaxy Watch8 Classic Design
Now, in collaboration with SammyGuru, the reliable leaker OnLeaks has provided detailed renders of the rumored Galaxy Watch8 Classic. While it’s the direct successor to the Galaxy Watch6 Classic, its design seems to incorporate elements not only from its predecessor but also from last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Key Design Features and Specifications
The renders reveal the Galaxy Watch8 Classic will feature a physically rotating dial integrated into a distinct squircle-shaped case. Additionally, it will sport two physical buttons, a digital crown, and Samsung’s proprietary band attachment system. The reported dimensions are 46 x 46.5 x 14.2 mm, which Samsung will likely market as a 47 mm case size. The Galaxy Watch8 Classic is anticipated to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Watch8, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July.
