New Leaks Show More Pictures of Oura Ring 5, Claimed to Be "World’s Smallest Smart Ring

A massive new leak by Winfuture has just given us a full look at the highly anticipated Oura Ring 5. This upcoming wearable is expected to make its official debut on Thursday, May 28, and a flood of early marketing materials has left very little to the imagination.

From what we can see, the company is betting big on comfort and style for its newest generation. If you are eager to get your hands on one, you will not have to wait very long, as shipping is reportedly scheduled to start on June 4.

Slimmer Design and Premium Color Choices

The headline feature of the Oura Ring 5 is its size. Early advertisements are already calling it the “world’s smallest smart ring.” The company shrunk the overall body of the device to make it much lighter and more comfortable to wear around the clock.

Buyers will have a total of six different finishes to choose from. If you like a shiny look, it will come in polished silver, black, gold, and rose gold. If you prefer something more subtle, Oura will also offer the ring in a matte finish for both silver and black.

A Jump in Battery Life and Health Tracking

Even though the ring is getting smaller, the hardware inside is getting a big boost. The battery life is stepping up, giving users a full week of use on a single charge. It is also built to handle the elements, boasting a waterproof rating of up to 100 meters deep.

While the core sensors for tracking heart rate, blood oxygen (SpO2), and skin temperature seem to be physically larger than before to capture more accurate data, the biggest changes are in the software. The new ring can track more than 50 different health metrics. It includes classic features like step counting, sleep scores, workout tracking, and menstrual cycle monitoring. It also introduces a new “symptom radar” feature designed to catch the early signs of a coming illness before you even feel sick.

The True Cost: Price and Subscriptions

Getting this new piece of tech on your finger will cost a bit more than it used to. The base model of the Oura Ring 5 will start at €429, which is a €30 jump compared to the launch price of the previous generation. Depending on the luxury finish you choose, the price can climb as high as €529.

However, buying the ring is only the first step. To actually look at your data and use the best features, you will still need to pay a monthly subscription fee of €5.99.

It is also worth noting what comes in the box. Every purchase includes a standard desktop charging dock and a USB-C cable. However, if you are someone who travels a lot and wants a protective, portable charging case to juice up the ring on the go, you will have to pay extra for that accessory.
