I Just Spotted the New Amazfit A2566 on FCC: A Circular Smartwatch With 4 Physical Buttons

I was doing my usual rounds, checking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database today, looking for any hidden gems in the wearable world. Suddenly, a brand-new listing caught my eye.

Anhui Huami Information Technology (the company behind the Amazfit brand) has just filed for a completely new, unreleased smartwatch model.

Here are the raw details straight from the regulatory filing:

  • Model Number: A2566

  • FCC ID: 2AC8UA2566

  • Application Date: May 13, 2026

  • Application Purpose: Original Equipment

  • Test Firm: Shenzhen STS Test Services Co., Ltd.

  • Confidentiality Release Date: November 10, 2026

What the Regulatory Files Tell Us

Right now, Huami is keeping the official marketing name under strict lock and key. The brand name is listed as “N/A” for now. However, because the short-term confidentiality agreement runs until November 10, 2026, we can realistically expect Amazfit to officially launch or at least announce this device right before or during the holiday season.

The filing falls under the TCB Scope A4: UNII devices & low power transmitters using spread spectrum techniques. This means the watch will feature standard wireless connectivity features, likely including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

A Look at the Design: Balance or Cheetah?

While the core technical specs are still hidden in confidential test reports, I managed to find the regulatory label drawing hidden within the FCC documents.

The diagram gives us a huge hint about the design:

  • The Shape: It features a classic, clean circular watch body.

  • The Buttons: The drawing clearly shows two physical buttons on the left and two on the right.

This 4-button layout is a bit unusual for standard lifestyle watches. Most casual smartwatches rely on a single rotating crown or a basic 2-button layout.

Because of this unique design, I have a couple of theories on what this hardware could be:

  • A New Performance/Running Watch (Cheetah Series): A 4-button setup is highly practical for runners and endurance athletes who need tactile, physical controls when their hands are sweaty or when they are wearing gloves. It could easily be a new variant in the Cheetah performance lineup.

  • A New Lifestyle/Sport Flagship (Balance Series): It could also be a fresh spin on a high-end daily trainer, following the footsteps of the Balance line, but with more dedicated hardware buttons for easier navigation during workouts.

Still Blank in International Databases

To see if I could uncover a confirmed retail name or regional variants, I immediately jumped over to other major international databases, including Malaysia’s SIRIM and Singapore’s IMDA.

Unfortunately, my search came up empty. It looks like the FCC is the very first place this device has surfaced globally, meaning the hardware is still in the relatively early stages of its international regulatory approval pipeline.

I will keep a very close eye on global certification portals over the coming weeks to see when the official product name finally drops. Stay tuned!
