Zepp Health is doubling down on its commitment to the “smart” in smartwatch, rolling out a series of new software integrations that transform Amazfit wearables into dedicated controllers for the modern home. The latest update to the Zepp OS ecosystem introduces a sophisticated bridge to Home Assistant, alongside a collection of productivity and automation tools that significantly broaden the utility of the brand’s hardware.

Seamless Integration with Home Assistant

The centerpiece of this update is the launch of HA Switches, a new Mini App specifically tailored for the Home Assistant community. Rather than relying on a smartphone to manage domestic environments, users can now toggle lighting, climate systems, and smart appliances directly from their wrists. The application also provides real-time telemetry, displaying live data from home sensors such as humidity levels and temperature.

While the core functionality is available as a free download, some premium features within the app require a small fee—marking a shift toward a more robust developer-supported economy within the Zepp App Store. For those still using older hardware, the Zepp2Hass Alternative app has also been released, ensuring that owners of devices running Zepp OS 3.0 or earlier can still sync their biometric data with their home dashboards.

Automation and Creative Tools for the Wrist

Beyond smart home management, the software rollout targets power users looking to streamline their digital workflows. The introduction of WristLink creates a direct pipeline to Tasker, the popular Android automation engine. This allows users to execute complex phone-based “recipes”—such as silencing notifications during a meeting or launching GPS routines—with a single tap on the watch.

For users seeking more casual utility, the update also includes:

  • Draw Sketch: A creative tool designed for quick visual notes or sketches directly on the watch face.

  • Legacy Support: Updated compatibility layers to ensure smoother performance across the mid-range and flagship Amazfit lineups.

Strengthening the Wearable Ecosystem

These additions arrive as Amazfit continues to push the boundaries of what budget and mid-tier wearables can achieve. By supporting open-source platforms like Home Assistant and Tasker, Zepp Health is catering to a niche but influential segment of tech enthusiasts who prioritize interoperability.

The new apps are available now for compatible devices, including the latest T-Rex 3, Active 2, Bip 6 and more. Users can find and install these updates through the “App Store” menu within the Zepp smartphone application.
