Huawei is reportedly preparing to launch a new high-end smartwatch, the Watch Ultimate 2, a direct successor to the premium Watch Ultimate. This move would position the company to compete directly with rivals like Apple and Samsung, both of which have recently updated their own top-tier wearable lineups. The new Watch Ultimate 2 is anticipated to bring a notable improvement in one key area while maintaining the sophisticated and luxurious aesthetic of its predecessor.

A Familiar Yet Refined Design

The Watch Ultimate 2 is expected to largely retain the design language of the original. Leaked information suggests it will keep the same substantial 48.5 mm case size, along with three prominent physical buttons and minimal bezels around the display. The overall look is said to evoke a classic sports watch, a style that has proven popular in the high-end market.

However, Huawei has apparently made a subtle change to the bezel itself. This new design element will reportedly feature “Huawei Watch Ultimate” branding, distinguishing it from the first generation. This minor visual tweak, combined with the familiar form factor, suggests that the focus is on internal improvements rather than a radical external redesign.

Significant Battery and Power Improvements

The most significant upgrade for the Watch Ultimate 2 appears to be its battery. The new model is rumored to feature a silicon-carbon battery, a technology that promises a substantial boost in performance. According to leaks, this new battery will offer a 37% increase in energy density and a 65% increase in total capacity compared to the 530 mAh battery in the original Watch Ultimate. This could translate to significantly longer battery life, a crucial factor for users of high-end smartwatches.

The Watch Ultimate 2 is expected to be priced around €899, or approximately $1,054, and will likely be offered in two color variants. While an official announcement is pending, a reliable source suggests that Huawei will unveil the new watch globally on or around September 19, 2025, alongside the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro.
