Huawei is introducing a significant upgrade for its Watch D2 smartwatch with the release of software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05). This marks the device’s transition to HarmonyOS 5.1, bringing a suite of enhancements that promise to refine the user experience, from interface navigation to in-depth health tracking. While initially available to users in China, a global rollout is anticipated.

Enhanced Interface and Personalized Watch Faces

The update revamps the Watch D2’s interface with the introduction of a “star ring” app display, offering a fresh visual alternative to the existing Grid and Lists modes. Users will also find new options for personal expression through customizable preset watch faces, including designs like “Fashion Profile” and “Universal Module.” Furthermore, for those with a Huawei smartphone running HarmonyOS 4 or newer, the Watch D2 can now display real-time information, such as flight statuses or food delivery updates, directly on the wrist.

Revolutionary Health Insights: Introducing Sleep HRV and Health Summaries

A major highlight of this update is the expansion of the Watch D2’s health monitoring capabilities. A new health summary application enables users to track trends in key metrics, such as heart rate and stress levels, providing insightful analysis of their well-being over time. Crucially, the Watch D2 now includes a sleep average Heart Rate Variability (HRV) metric. This advanced feature aims to provide users with a deeper understanding of their fatigue and stress levels, offering valuable data for managing overall health. The comprehensive release notes detailing these new features are available on the Huawei Forum.

Phased Global Rollout Expected

The initial deployment of Huawei’s software version 4.1.0.16 (C00M05) is currently underway for Watch D2 owners in China. The timeline for its global availability has not yet been announced, but it is expected to follow the initial regional release.
