A Closer Look at the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic

The newly leaked renders, initially shared by PhoneArena in collaboration with Evan Blass, spotlight the Galaxy Watch 8 in a sleek Graphite Gray finish, paired with a minimalist watch face. This model features two physical buttons on its right side and a pair of discreet slits on the left. Notably, the default strap for the Galaxy Watch 8 boasts a smooth exterior while its interior is ribbed, a departure from the Galaxy Watch 7’s strap, which was ribbed on both sides. Consumers can expect the Galaxy Watch 8 to be offered in both 40mm and 44mm sizes, with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and LTE connectivity options.

Moving to the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, the renders depict it in a sophisticated white colorway, though the case itself appears to be a light gray or silver. The straps seem to be a blend of leather and rubber, adding to its premium feel. While it shares the two physical buttons on the right side with its standard counterpart, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic distinguishes itself with a familiar digital crown, much like the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Furthermore, the Classic model will feature a rotating dial and a tachymeter on its bezel. Reports suggest the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will be available in a single 46mm size, also with Bluetooth and LTE variants.

Perhaps the most visually striking of the trio, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) is showcased in a captivating Titanium Blue. This model sports a matching blue bezel and straps, exuding a premium and robust appeal. While it foregoes the rotating bezel found on the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, it incorporates a tachymeter, two physical buttons, and a digital crown, aligning with its “Ultra” designation.

The initial news of the Galaxy Watch 8 series adopting the “squircle” design (a blend of square and circle) of the existing Galaxy Watch Ultra was met with mixed reactions from some enthusiasts. However, these new, detailed renders might just sway opinions, offering a fresh perspective on Samsung’s bold new design direction for its upcoming smartwatches.
