The Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch is receiving its inaugural software update, a significant enhancement initially rolled out in China. This release introduces exciting new functionalities, including dedicated modes for scuba diving and HYROX training, as well as practical improvements such as a safety light and display optimizations. The wearable’s mapping capabilities have also received various enhancements, promising a more refined user experience.

Dive Deeper with New Scuba and HYROX Modes

Details of the update, shared by Zepp Health on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, highlight several key additions. For fitness enthusiasts, the Amazfit Balance 2 now boasts three innovative HYROX Training Modes: free training, structured training templates, and timed training. The timed training option further offers TABATA, AMRAP, and EMOM styles, catering to diverse high-intensity interval training preferences.

Adventure seekers will appreciate the newly implemented recreational scuba diving mode. This feature supports dives up to a maximum depth of 45 meters (approximately 148 feet) and includes compatibility for single-cylinder, air, and nitrox, as well as no-stop diving scenarios. This makes the Balance 2 a more versatile companion for underwater exploration.

Enhanced Safety and Navigation Features

Beyond the new activity modes, the update also introduces valuable utility features. A new safety light has been added, specifically designed for users who exercise during nighttime hours, providing an extra layer of visibility. Navigation has also seen a significant upgrade with a new setting tailored for topographic maps.

Furthermore, users can expect a more polished interface. Zepp Health has implemented optimizations for the display of app and activity lists, leading to a smoother and more intuitive Browse experience. The visual presentation of maps and track navigation has also been refined, improving clarity and ease of use during outdoor activities.

China First, Global Rollout Expected

Currently, this comprehensive software update is being distributed to Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch owners within China. Zepp Health has yet to disclose a specific timeline for when this update will become available to users in other international markets. Global users should keep an eye on official Amazfit channels for announcements regarding its wider release.
