Amazfit is rolling out a new update, version 3.16.6.1, for the Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch. This update introduces several optimizations and improvements, especially for users who pair their watch with the Helio Strap fitness tracker. The update arrives about a month after the previous one, which brought the new Ultramarathon workout mode.
Enhanced Helio Strap Integration

This update focuses on improving the experience for those who use the Helio Strap. After connecting the strap, you can now see its status directly on the smartwatch. Another key feature is the new source indicator icon for your heart rate data during a workout. This icon shows whether your heart rate is being tracked by the watch itself or by an external device like the Helio Strap, providing greater clarity.
Smoother Post-Workout Experience
The update also includes a refinement to the post-workout flow on the watch. According to the release notes, the experience is now “smoother and more natural.” This change aims to improve the user interface and overall feel of reviewing your workout summaries directly on the device.
No BioCharge Feature Yet
While this update brings welcome improvements, the highly anticipated BioCharge energy monitoring feature is not included. This metric is currently exclusive to the Helio Strap, and a representative for the brand has stated that Zepp Health is still working on bringing this function to the smartwatch.
How to Get the Update
The update is being rolled out in stages, with users in the US, Italy, and Canada typically receiving it first. Other regions will get access in the following days and weeks. To install the update, you’ll need to use the Zepp Health app, ensuring you have at least version 9.11.0 installed.
