Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch users worldwide are starting to receive a significant software update, version 3.16.0.3. This latest release from Zepp Health introduces an exciting new Ultramarathon workout mode and makes a subtle but welcome change to the tap-to-wake feature. In addition to these enhancements, the update also addresses performance issues and bug fixes, aiming to improve the overall user experience.

Enhancements and Bug Fixes Roll Out

The 3.16.0.3 update brings more than just new features. Zepp Health has focused on optimizing existing functionalities and resolving reported issues. Users can now enjoy a smoother experience when scrolling with the Digital Crown during workouts, indicating a refinement in haptic feedback or responsiveness. Furthermore, the update resolves a previous problem with the Eject feature, ensuring it now functions as intended. A pesky bug causing silent audio has also been squashed, and lag in Balance 2’s Control Center has reportedly been reduced, contributing to a more fluid interface.

BioCharge Feature Still Pending and Rollout Details

While this update brings several improvements, one highly anticipated feature, BioCharge, remains absent. The Amazfit team acknowledges this and states that they are actively working on refining BioCharge for the smartwatch platform, although a release timeline has yet to be announced.

The rollout of software version 3.16.0.3 appears to have commenced around July 17th, with initial availability in the US, Italy, and China. Zepp Health anticipates a wider global rollout, reaching users in other regions by the end of July. To install the update, Balance 2 owners will need to use the Zepp Health app, ensuring they have at least version 9.9.5 installed.
