Gamifying Fitness: Amazfit Introduces New Badge System in Zepp Health App V10 Update

For a long time, Amazfit users have enjoyed robust hardware and detailed data tracking, but the software experience often felt a bit clinical compared to its competitors. That changes today. With the release of version 10 of the Zepp Health app (currently rolling out on iOS), Amazfit is officially leaning into gamification by introducing a comprehensive badge and achievement system.

A New Way to Track Personal Milestones

The centerpiece of this update is the brand-new “Badges” tab located in the app’s bottom navigation bar. This section serves as a digital trophy case, organized into four distinct categories designed to keep users motivated:

  • Personal Bests: Tracks your peak performance, such as your fastest 3K or 5K runs.

  • Achievements: Recognizes consistency, including “perfect weeks” for step counts and calorie burning.

  • Challenges: Features time-sensitive events, like the inaugural New Year Challenge.

  • Masteries: Focuses on long-term dedication to specific fitness disciplines.

By clicking into these categories, users can see a visual representation of their progress, featuring color-coded medals and animated bars that mirror the polished aesthetic found on platforms like the Apple Watch.

Modernizing the Zepp Health Interface

Beyond the rewards system, version 10 brings a significant visual overhaul to the entire application. The goal appears to be making the data feel more approachable and less like a spreadsheet.

The home screen now features a “softer” design language, utilizing rounded corners and vibrant gradient backgrounds for data cards like “Insights” and “Training Plans.” This UI refresh makes the app feel more contemporary and helps important health metrics pop, reducing the visual fatigue of navigating dense biometric data.

Closing the Gap with Garmin and Apple

For years, Garmin and Apple have used badges and “closing rings” to build user loyalty and encourage daily activity. By adding these social and competitive elements, Zepp Health is addressing a major “motivation gap.”

While the initial rollout covers the essentials—running milestones and daily activity streaks—there is significant room for the system to evolve. Future iterations could potentially include badges for sleep recovery, training load consistency, or even cross-platform achievements linked to services like Strava.

What This Means for Amazfit Users

This update signals a shift in strategy for Zepp Health. It is no longer enough to simply provide accurate heart rate and GPS data; the modern wearable user wants to feel a sense of accomplishment for their efforts. By adding a layer of “digital rewards” to the fitness journey, Amazfit is making its ecosystem more engaging for casual walkers and serious marathoners alike.

If you haven’t seen the update yet, check your App Store for version 10 to start claiming your badges and exploring the refreshed interface.
