Amazfit has officially begun deploying a fresh software update version 4.4.2.3 for the T-Rex 3 Pro, bringing a suite of functional enhancements and stability fixes to the rugged wearable. This latest firmware version focuses on refining the workout experience, streamlining navigation, and cleaning up notification bugs.

Enhanced Cycling Metrics and Sensor Integration

For fitness enthusiasts, the primary highlight of this update involves improved data visualization for Indoor Cycling. When the watch is paired with external peripherals—such as power meters, cadence sensors, or speed sensors—the device now automatically generates and displays the corresponding data charts in real-time. This ensures that athletes have immediate, visual access to their performance metrics without needing to manually configure data screens mid-ride.

Refined Weather Logic and Data Accuracy

The update introduces a smarter approach to environmental data via the Zepp App. Amazfit has optimized how weather information is tied to workout logs. To maintain the integrity of your training history, the system will now omit weather data from a workout record if a precise reading for the starting location cannot be established. This change prevents the recording of inaccurate or “placeholder” weather stats that could clutter your fitness summaries.

Navigation Shortcuts and UI Improvements

Navigating via the wrist is now more intuitive thanks to two specific upgrades to the Map app.

  • Quick Access: Users can now tap the SEL icon directly on the touchscreen from the map or workout track pages to jump straight into navigation settings.

  • Orientation Shift: The default map perspective has been updated to “North Up,” providing a more traditional and consistent orientation for outdoor explorers.

Smarter Reminders and System Stability

Beyond the visible features, Amazfit has overhauled the “Activity” reminder system. The trigger logic has been fine-tuned to be more responsive, and the messaging within those reminders has been refreshed for better clarity. Crucially, this update addresses a bug where abnormal push notifications were sent before the app had fully initialized. To top it off, general “under-the-hood” fixes have been applied to boost overall system stability and performance.

Availability and Rollout

As is standard with Amazfit releases, this firmware is being deployed in phased stages. While a segment of the user base has already received the notification to upgrade, others may need to wait a few days for the update to appear in their Zepp App. Owners are encouraged to check for updates manually within the device settings to see if their serial number has been added to the current queue.

Change Log Summary:

  • 1. When Indoor Cycling is connected to a speed sensor, power meter, or cadence sensor, corresponding data charts can now be displayed automatically during workouts.
  • 2. Optimized the weather display logic in the Zepp App. If accurate weather data for the workout start location cannot be obtained, weather information will not be shown in the workout record.
  • 3. The Map app and workout track pages now support tapping the SEL icon via touchscreen to quickly access navigation settings.
  • 4. Updated the default navigation view in the Map app to “North Up.”
  • 5. Optimized the “Activity” reminder mechanism and trigger logic, updated reminder messages, and fixed abnormal push notifications that could occur when the app was not fully initialized.
  • 6. fixed other known issues and further improved system stability.
