Amazfit is introducing a substantial set of features and refinements for the T-Rex 3 Pro with the release of firmware version 4.3.8.2. This update is specifically geared toward improving the experience for multi-sport athletes, particularly those focused on trail running, cycling, and competitive fitness racing.

Advanced Performance Metrics for Runners

The update introduces Equivalent Pace and Average Equivalent Pace as new data fields. These metrics are crucial for trail and outdoor runners, as they provide a “flat-ground” pace equivalent when navigating steep inclines or declines. By accounting for elevation changes, runners can more accurately gauge their actual effort levels across varying terrain.

Expanded Sensor Support and Voice Capabilities

Indoor training gets a significant boost as the Indoor Cycling profile now supports external hardware, including speed sensors, cadence sensors, and power meters. Additionally, athletes can now record voice memos during any workout by long-pressing the DOWN button. These recordings are automatically synced and available for playback within the Zepp App, making it easier to log thoughts or training notes without stopping.

Intelligent Training with Zepp Coach

Zepp Coach has been updated to offer more flexibility for busy athletes. Users can now modify their training schedule on the fly, with options to adjust remaining workouts for the week or skip a session entirely with a single tap. This ensures the AI coach adapts to your real-life recovery needs and schedule changes.

Enhanced Map Navigation and HYROX Data

For long-distance cyclists, the Map app now supports route creation for distances up to 100 km. Competitive fitness enthusiasts also gain an advantage with the HYROX Race profile, which now displays “HYROX Zone” times in the Zepp App timeline, providing a detailed breakdown of performance across different stations and transitions.

Reliability and System Optimizations

Several under-the-hood improvements have been made to ensure data accuracy. The altitude algorithm has been optimized for better precision during workouts, and the lap alert page now features an updated segment count display. The update also resolves a bug that occasionally caused display abnormalities when initiating a new workout session.

Phased Rollout and How to Update

This firmware update is being released in phased stages. While some users will see the update immediately, others may need to wait several days as it reaches different regions.

To check for and install the update, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth and has at least 50% battery (or is placed on the charger).

  2. Open the Zepp App on your smartphone.

  3. Tap on Profile in the bottom right corner.

  4. Select your Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro from the list of “My Devices.”

  5. Scroll down and tap on System Update.

  6. If the update is available for your region, tap Update Immediately to begin the download and installation.
