Amazfit Balance 2 Receives Major Feature Boost with Firmware 3.35.2.2: What’s New?

0

Amazfit has begun deploying a significant software overhaul for its Balance 2 smartwatch. The latest firmware, designated as version 3.35.2.2, introduces a suite of new outdoor fitness tools and health monitoring visualizations designed to enhance the wearable’s utility for athletes and casual users alike.

Expanded Adventure and Fitness Modes

The headline addition in this release is the specialized “Rucking” mode. Designed for those who train with weighted vests or packs, this feature allows users to input their specific backpack load for more accurate calorie and exertion tracking.

For mountain enthusiasts, a new “Hiking” mode has been introduced. This mode is fine-tuned to monitor everything from casual nature walks to more strenuous, technical climbs, providing precise elevation and performance data tailored to varying terrains.

Advanced BioCharge Insights

Amazfit is doubling down on health data transparency by expanding its BioCharge metrics. Users can now access a 24-hour BioCharge trend directly on their wrist, providing a comprehensive look at energy levels throughout the day. Additionally, the new Morning BioCharge map offers a snapshot of recovery and readiness levels immediately upon waking, helping users plan their daily activity intensity.

Enhanced User Interface and Utility

The update introduces several “quality of life” improvements to the Zepp OS experience:

  • Instant Screenshots: Users can now capture their screen by simultaneously pressing the crown and the bottom button. Images are automatically synced and saved to the paired smartphone.

  • Control Center Mute: A dedicated mute icon has been added for quicker access to silent modes.

  • Auto-Home Navigation: The watch now automatically returns to the main watch face after a user clears all notifications, reducing unnecessary scrolling.

Performance Optimizations and Fixes

Under the hood, version 3.35.2.2 features a more energy-efficient algorithm for outdoor running, which may help extend battery life during GPS-intensive activities. The update also refines the accuracy of weather data, optimizes map icon clarity, and enhances the tactile responsiveness of the crown. Furthermore, the development team has addressed previous notification initialization errors and polished the Portuguese language localization.

Availability

This firmware is being released in a phased rollout. While a portion of the global user base has already received the update notification, others may need to wait several days before it becomes available via the Zepp app.
