Amazfit is rolling out a massive new software update for the Balance 2 smartwatch. The update, called version 3.54.2.1, is a 179.7MB download. It brings several new features that make the older Balance 2 work almost exactly like the newer Balance 3 model.
While it does not have every single feature of the newer watch, it narrows the gap significantly and gives users a big performance upgrade.
Smarter Tools for Workouts and Recovery

The update focuses heavily on helping users train better. Amazfit has added “HybridCharge” directly to the watch face, rather than just keeping it inside the smartphone app.
They also replaced the old “Full Recovery Time” clock with a smarter tool called “Next Hard Session.” Instead of just counting down the hours until you can exercise again, this new feature tells you exactly when your body is ready for another heavy workout.
For fans of fitness competitions, the update adds tools for HYROX races. The watch now includes specific templates to simulate full, half, or quarter-distance races. It also has a race strategy tool that helps you plan your goals and gives you live guidance while you run. Additionally, the Balance 2 can now connect with the Helio Strap Pro and other motion accessories.
Better Health Tracking for Multi-Watch Users
If you like to swap between different Amazfit watches, this update fixes a very annoying problem. Previously, switching watches could mess up your health data. Now, the Zepp Health app can sync your resting heart rate data seamlessly across all your paired devices. No matter which watch you wear to bed or to the gym, your health metrics will look consistent.
The update also fixes a known issue with outdoor tracking. The watch’s altitude algorithm has been adjusted to stop random spikes in your climbing and downhill data, which should make your outdoor run and hike stats much more accurate.
Upgrades to Voice Control and Maps
Amazfit’s voice assistant, Zepp Flow, is getting faster and easier to use with this release. Users can now adjust the volume more easily and get clearer notification reminders. You can also use voice commands during more types of workouts and system apps.
For golfers, the watch now handles switching between holes much better and reminds you to download your course maps before you start playing. There is also a new, quick shortcut to look at maps during standard workouts.
The Balance 2 still misses out on the newer Zepp OS 6.0 software and iOS notification forwarding. Strava users will also have to wait a bit longer, as Live Segments are not scheduled to arrive until October. However, for a free update, Balance 2 owners are getting a lot of new value out of their current watch.
