My Deep Dive Into the Latest Amazfit Leaks: The Cheetah 2 Pro Square is Coming

It looks like Amazfit is not slowing down. Fresh off the global release of the Cheetah 2 Pro, new regulatory filings suggest that an even more impressive “Square” variant is already on the horizon.

I’ve broken down the latest leaks and FCC data to give you a clearer picture of what this upcoming wearable might look like.

The Mystery Model: A2568

Just as the Cheetah 2 Pro (model A2564) hits the shelves with its 3,000-nit display and 20-day battery life, a new model—carrying the designation A2568—has surfaced in FCC filings. While the “squircle” or square-shaped design is immediately obvious from the documentation, the real story lies in what is powering the device.

Battery Life That Could Top the Charts

The most striking detail uncovered is the battery capacity. The A2568 is listed with a 550 mAh battery. To put that in perspective:

  • It is significantly larger than the 340 mAh cell found in the budget-friendly Bip 6.

  • It even edges out the 540 mAh battery found in the brand-new circular Cheetah 2 Pro.

Because the battery is roughly 60% larger than the Bip series and nearly double the size of recent “Active” models, it’s highly unlikely this is a budget device—instead, the specs point to a premium powerhouse, likely the Cheetah 2 Pro Square.

Bridging the Gap Between Sport and Style

Amazfit has a history of offering its high-end tech in two form factors. If this is indeed the Cheetah 2 Pro Square, we can expect it to mirror the premium specs of its circular sibling—including that ultra-bright AMOLED screen—but in a design that caters to fans of the Apple Watch Ultra or Amazfit’s own Active series.

The FCC schematics suggest a rugged yet sleek build. Given that the circular version already boasts 20 days of juice, this 550 mAh variant could potentially push those limits even further, making it one of the most long-lasting square smartwatches on the market.

When Can We Expect It?

While Amazfit hasn’t officially teased the Square variant yet, the timeline is becoming clearer. The FCC’s confidentiality agreement regarding the photos and internal diagrams of the A2568 is set to expire on September 29, 2026.

Typically, companies launch products well before these documents go public. This means we could see an official announcement late this summer or early autumn, positioning it perfectly for the end-of-year fitness rush.

For those who prefer a square display but don’t want to sacrifice the “Pro” level performance of the Cheetah line, it might be worth holding off on a purchase for a few more months.
