Amazfit is officially upgrading the user experience for the Balance 2 smartwatch with the release of firmware version 3.39.0.4. This latest software deployment isn’t just a minor patch; it introduces a suite of sophisticated tools designed to refine fitness tracking, navigation, and system efficiency.
Innovative New Features for Athletes

The standout addition in this update is the Workout Audio Alerts system. Users can now receive real-time performance updates via the watch’s built-in speaker or connected Bluetooth headphones. To activate this, navigate to Settings > Workout > Workout Alert.
Furthermore, outdoor enthusiasts will benefit from the new Route Planning capability, which is accessible through both the wearable and the Zepp app. Swimmers haven’t been left out either; the update enables seamless heart rate tracking synchronization with the Helio Strap specifically for aquatic sessions.
Media and Navigation Enhancements
The on-device Music app has received a significant functional overhaul. It now supports third-party audio sources, giving users the flexibility to toggle between different music providers directly from their wrist.
On the visual side, Amazfit has revamped the Map Display. The interface now offers sharper rendering and more intuitive interaction, ensuring that positioning and route following are more reliable during high-intensity navigation.
System Optimization and Refined Controls
Beyond new features, the 3.39.0.4 update polishes existing functionalities:
-
Tactile Feedback: Vibration intensity during workouts has been recalibrated for better tactile recognition.
-
Logic Tweaks: To prevent accidental inputs, the double-press function of the lower button is now disabled while using the Stopwatch or during active workouts.
-
Intelligence: The Zepp Coach training algorithms have been fine-tuned for more personalized guidance.
-
Reliability: Improvements to notification handling and power management protocols promise a more stable battery life and a smoother overall UI.
Availability and Rollout Schedule
As is standard with Amazfit software launches, this update is being released in phased waves. While a segment of the user base has already gained access to these features, others may need to wait a few days for the notification to appear in their Zepp app.
