Amazfit T-REx 3

Amazfit has officially released firmware version 4.3.8.2 for the T-Rex 3, bringing a massive suite of features designed for outdoor enthusiasts, hybrid athletes, and data-driven runners. This phased rollout focuses on navigation smoothness, sensor compatibility, and advanced running metrics.

Enhanced Running Metrics and Trail Performance

The headline addition in this update is the introduction of Equivalent Pace and Average Equivalent Pace. Specifically designed for trail and outdoor runners, these metrics translate your pace on uphill or downhill terrain into an equivalent pace on flat terrain. This allows athletes to better gauge their effort regardless of elevation changes.

Additionally, the altitude algorithm has been refined to provide more precise elevation data during mountainous activities, ensuring your vertical gain stats are as accurate as possible.

Upgraded Navigation and Mapping Experience

Navigating from the wrist is now significantly more fluid. Amazfit has optimized the Terrain Map app and workout track pages, resulting in a much smoother map rotation as you change direction. To further simplify orientation, the default navigation view is now set to “Advance up,” meaning the map automatically aligns with the direction you are physically facing. Turn reminders have also seen a boost in sensitivity, providing more timely alerts as you approach intersections on your route.

Expanded Support for Cycling and HYROX

The T-Rex 3 is becoming a more versatile tool for indoor and competitive training:

  • Indoor Cycling: Users can now connect external speed sensors, cadence sensors, and power meters. If you aren’t using a sensor, the watch now allows for manual distance entry once the session is over.

  • HYROX Athletes: The HYROX Race mode now supports Stryd power sensors. This integration brings Stryd-based pace data into your records, and the Zepp App has been updated to display specific HYROX Zone time distributions.

Smart Utilities and Workout Voice Memos

A unique new productivity feature enables users to record voice memos during a workout. By long-pressing the “DOWN” button during an active session, you can capture thoughts or reminders, which are then synced to the Zepp App for playback later.

The screenshot tool has also been overhauled. You can now capture on-screen images even when the watch is disconnected from your smartphone. The device can store up to 20 screenshots locally until the next time you sync with your phone.

Zepp Coach and UI Refinements

The Zepp Coach feature is now more flexible, allowing users to skip a scheduled workout or reorganize the remaining sessions for the week with a single tap. The update also cleans up minor UI elements, such as the segment count display on lap alerts and the logic for imperial units. In navigation mode, distances under 0.1 miles will now display in feet, while anything over will show in miles.

How to Get the Update

The firmware is being released in stages. If you don’t see version 4.3.8.2 in your Zepp App today, it should become available within the next few days as the rollout expands to more regions.
