We have been talking about the upcoming Fitbit Edge for a while now, covering everything from its early design leaks to its expected pricing. If you have been following our previous reports on the Google Fitbit Edge Leaked Features, Colors, and Expected Price and our breakdown of the Google Fitbit Edge Price, Specs, and Features Revealed in New Leak, you know how much anticipation has been building around this device. Now, the wait is almost over. Google has finally given us a concrete release date for its newest wearable.
The official confirmation came directly from a post by the Google Health account on X (formerly Twitter). The teaser points to a big reveal happening this Monday, October 12, 2026. While the post kept things a bit mysterious, the attached image and teaser details make it completely clear that the star of the show will be the Fitbit Edge.
Where Does the Fitbit Edge Fit In?
Google is designing this new wearable to fill a very specific gap in its product family. It sits right in the middle, above the simpler Fitbit Air and below the fully featured Pixel Watch 5.
It is a great option for anyone who wants a handy screen on their wrist for daily tracking, but does not necessarily need a heavy, full-blown smartwatch.

-
Display: It comes with a bright 1.34-inch AMOLED screen.
-
Battery Life: You can expect up to 7 days of normal use on a single charge. If you keep the always-on display turned on, that battery life drops down to about 2 days.
-

-
Handy Extras: It even brings a user-replaceable battery and fast-charging support, which is a huge plus for long-term use.
Health Tracking and Smart Features
When it comes to keeping an eye on your health and day-to-day life, the Fitbit Edge packs a surprising punch. Leaks show that it includes an ECG sensor for checking your heart rhythm, AFib detection, and a built-in skin temperature sensor.
For everyday convenience, you also get support for Google Maps, easy media controls, and a Find My Phone tool. Best of all, it works smoothly with both Android phones and iPhones.
Colors and Expected Pricing
Google plans to release the new wearable in several nice color options—including Fog—that match the look of the Pixel 11 and the Pixel Watch 5. If you are planning to buy one, recent leaks suggest it will cost around €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK.
