Huawei Rumored to Launch Blood Sugar Monitoring Wearable in Q2 2026

The landscape of health-focused wearables is shifting as Huawei prepares to strengthen its position in the medical-tech market. Following the recent rollout of its “Diabetes Risk Study” tool, new industry leaks suggest the company is now working on a specialized hardware successor designed to bring non-invasive blood sugar monitoring to the next level.

Advancing Non-Invasive Health Tech

While Huawei made waves in 2023 with the Watch 4—the brand’s first device to feature blood sugar tracking—that specific utility was largely restricted to the Chinese market. The upcoming device, however, is rumored to feature a significant technological leap. According to reports from the Weibo-based insider Fixed-Focus Digital, this new model will utilize a more sophisticated sensor array to provide measurements with a higher degree of precision than previous iterations.

While technical specifications remain under wraps, the focus appears to be on refining accuracy, a major hurdle for any smartwatch manufacturer attempting to track glucose without traditional skin-pricking methods.

Possible Hardware and Design

Speculation is mounting regarding which product line this new technology will call home. While the original leak was light on design details, some industry analysts, including those at Huawei Central, suggest the device could be the next evolution of the Huawei Watch D series. Given that the Watch D line is already known for its medical-grade focus—specifically its inflatable wrist cuff for blood pressure monitoring—it would be a logical platform for high-precision glucose sensors.

Anticipated Launch Window

If the current rumors hold, consumers won’t have to wait long for an official reveal. The new wearable is reportedly slated for a Q2 2026 release, placing the launch window between April and June of this year.

The biggest remaining question is availability. While Huawei’s health innovations often debut in China first to navigate regulatory hurdles, there is significant global interest in whether this enhanced blood sugar monitoring tech will eventually see a release in European and other international markets.

A Growing Ecosystem of Diabetic Care

This hardware news follows closely on the heels of Huawei’s software-based “Diabetes Risk Study,” which has begun rolling out to existing devices like the Watch GT 6 Pro. By combining proactive risk assessment software with refined monitoring hardware, Huawei is positioning itself as a comprehensive leader in wearable-based diabetic care and preventative health management.
