Just hours before Samsung’s official launch event, a fresh batch of leaked marketing pictures revealed major upgrades for the company’s next line of smartwatches. The biggest surprise is for extreme sports fans: the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will finally support real underwater diving, matching a key feature Apple Watch Ultra users have enjoyed for years.
The new high-resolution promotional images, shared by tech leakers on X, give us our clearest look yet at both the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and the standard Galaxy Watch 9.
Catching Up to Apple Under Water
If you wanted to take a past Samsung smartwatch scuba diving, the official user manual strictly advised against it. Even though older models could handle high water pressure, they lacked the specialized safety rating required for deep-sea diving gear.
That changes with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The leaked promotional materials confirm the watch has earned official EN13319 certification. This international standard guarantees that a device is safe to use as a dive computer, allowing swimmers and divers to track their depth and time underwater with confidence.
Sleeker Design and Stronger Specs
Despite adding dedicated diving support, Samsung managed to trim down the Watch Ultra 2. The new model is roughly 12% thinner than its predecessor, making it less bulky on the wrist.
Samsung also packed several high-end upgrades into the slimmer titanium body:

The flagship Ultra isn’t the only watch getting a boost. Earlier leaks suggested that the basic 40mm Galaxy Watch 9 would reuse the older 325 mAh battery, but the new promotional slides set the record straight.
The smaller 40mm model is actually getting a power upgrade to a 390 mAh battery. Meanwhile, the larger 44mm version bumps its capacity up to 445 mAh. That extra power should give everyday users noticeably longer battery life between charges.
