Zepp Health has just launched a new software update, version 9.12.1, for Android users of its smartwatches. This new iteration of the Zepp app introduces two key features that were previously rolled out to iOS users: the BioCharge metric and a new Route Planning tool. This update brings Android users up to speed with their iOS counterparts, who received similar functionalities with app versions 9.12.1 and 9.12.3 in the past few days.
BioCharge and Energy Management
The new update for Android users, version 9.12.1, now enables the BioCharge feature for owners of the T-Rex 3 Pro and Balance 2 smartwatches. This tool, previously mentioned in the change log for the Balance 2 smartwatch update version 3.22.0.4, was initially exclusive to iOS users. BioCharge is designed to help you monitor your body’s energy levels by analyzing data from your workouts, stress, and sleep patterns. Essentially, it acts as a digital gauge for your personal energy reserves, providing insights into your body’s recovery and readiness for physical activity.
Plan Your Next Workout
A significant addition to the Zepp app’s functionality is the new Route Planning feature, which is included in both the 9.12.x updates. Located within the “Workouts” section, this tool allows you to create a personalized running or cycling course on a Google Maps-powered interactive map. Once you’ve defined your route, the app automatically calculates the total distance, elevation gain, and descent. You can then sync this planned route directly to your smartwatch, enabling you to follow the course without needing to carry your phone. While the feature primarily focuses on roads, you do have the flexibility to add custom waypoints to fine-tune your path.

Android users can now get Zepp app version 9.12.1 from the Google Play Store. Meanwhile, iOS users can download version 9.12.3 from the Apple App Store to access these new features.
